POP MART Is Coming to Westfarms Mall in Farmington Connecticut
A new collectible toy store is on the way to one of Connecticut’s busiest shopping destinations. POP MART, the global designer toy brand known for viral blind-box collectibles, is opening a new location at Westfarms. Westfarms sits between West Hartford and Farmington, making it one of the most popular shopping and lifestyle hubs in the Hartford area.
The POP MART store will be on the first floor of Westfarms in the space previously occupied by Cotton On Kids. Building permits indicate work is expected to begin soon, and the store is now listed as “coming soon” on Westfarms’ tenant directory.
When it opens, this will be POP MART’s third Connecticut location, joining existing stores in Norwalk and Danbury. Westfarms draws shoppers from nearby towns like Avon and Simsbury, plus the broader Hartford region.
What Is POP MART?
POP MART is a designer toy brand with a big collector following. The company is best known for blind boxes, where you buy a sealed box and you don’t know which figure you’re getting until you open it.
That surprise factor helped POP MART blow up on social media. People post unboxing videos, trade duplicates, and chase rare figures. Some of the best-known POP MART characters include Labubu, Molly, Dimoo, and Skullpanda.
Why POP MART Is So Popular
Beyond blind boxes, POP MART releases frequent new series and limited drops. That keeps collectors coming back to see what’s new, complete sets, and hunt for secret figures.
POP MART also collaborates with major franchises. Past collections have included Disney, Harry Potter, and Minions, along with many other well-known brands and characters.
Westfarms Keeps Adding New Tenants
POP MART’s arrival fits a broader trend at Westfarms: more specialty retail and experience-driven shopping. Westfarms serves shoppers from West Hartford, Farmington, Avon, Simsbury, and other nearby Connecticut towns, so new brands tend to get noticed fast. If you’re considering moving to Connecticut, this part of central Connecticut offers a strong mix of neighborhoods, retail, dining, and access to Hartford.
Westfarms has also been adding and reshuffling tenants, including Barnes & Noble, Häagen-Dazs, Riviera French Cafe, and a relocated The North Face store. For buyers who want to live near this retail corridor, you can browse West Hartford listings or Farmington listings and compare what you get in each town.
The mix signals that Westfarms is leaning into brands that pull repeat visits and create shareable moments, not just standard retail.
What This Means for Connecticut Collectors
For POP MART fans in the Hartford area, this is a big convenience. Instead of driving to Norwalk or Danbury, you’ll be able to shop new releases and blind boxes right at Westfarms. Its location near communities like Avon, Simsbury, and West Hartford makes it an easy stop for collectors across the region.
There’s no announced opening date yet, but with permits in place and the store listed as coming soon, it sounds like we’ll have more details soon. If you want help narrowing down towns and neighborhoods around Westfarms, you can reach me here: contact me.
